How Startups can convince Spices Buyer? - Stage : INTRODUCTION

Exporter: Hello, I am Kishan Barai from Barai Overseas

"Is this “SSP Foods”

Importer: Yes

Exporter: Hi there! My company specializes in the export of spices like whole spices, ground spices, and blended spices. I wanted to know if you're interested in learning more about such products?

Importer: We're sorry, but we've been working with a few spice vendors for over two decades and we're not interested in working with any new vendors at this time.

Exporter: We never intended to break your current business model or disrupt your current system. We were only concerned that if you had given us an opportunity to speak, we could have provided some valuable input that could improve your line of spices business.

Importer: OK go ahead

Exporter: Thank you. You might be aware that the quality of spices is the main concern when it comes to importing and the major buying countries have established tighter Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) or revoked the approval of some commonly used pesticides.

Importer: Yes, that’s correct

Exporter: The Ethylene Oxide contamination (ETO) on spices for shipment to Europe has become a major point of concern. Many European countries have set very tight ETO and, in some cases, have even revoked the approval of its use. This has created a big problem for spices exporters and also importers, as ETO is a common fumigant used to control pests and prevent fungal growth during storage.

Importer: We are very cautious with new exporters because we have had MRL issues with our established suppliers but your voice sounds interesting to us, and we would like to learn more about you and how you can help…

Exporter: Thank you very much ma’am, I understand that you may be hesitant to trust us since we are calling you out of the blue, but we are not trying to sell you anything. Our intention is that we genuinely want to help solve your current problem.

Importer: Very good! Please continue.

Exporter: Now let me help you with the solution

Importer: Hmm
